Amanda Wheeler

PRESIDENT

Amanda Wheeler has a bachelor's degree in Science and Human Services. She has worked for non-profit organizations for the past 14 years. She is currently employed full-time by the Boys and Girls Club. She was previously employed by the YMCA, She has helped the YMCA reach many fundraisers herself, encouraging her children to participate, or making donations. Amanda is a firm beliver that giviing back is a very important part of life. She is excited to work with My Daughter's Journey and help young women who look like her.

Shawanda Boone

VP

Shawanda Boone has a Bachelors in Business with a minor in Criminal Justice. Born to a 14 yr old brown girl who had 4 children, she has many experiences to share and teach. She is thankful for her past because it allows her to use certain situations as teaching moments on the regular. Her wish is to become the peron she wished for as a young girl that would offer guidance and support. She is a mother of 2 boys and they give her strength to continue to move on this journey as as a positive role model. She is employed as a Drug & Alchol Clinician. It allows her to help others explore options for 1st, 2nd and 3rd chances on their journey.

Jana Brinkley

Secretary

Jana Brinkley was the name given to me on November 18 of 1994. I became a young mother of a beautiful baby girl name Nylah. She is the high light of my entire life. I love to go shopping and living life with friends. Always remember to live life to the fullest. It is my pleasure to be apart of my daughters journey. I have so much to give and to offer. Being able to share my experiences and uplift young women of color.

Briel Gomes

Social Media Ambassador

My name is Briel Gomes. I am from Providence, Rhode Island. I have two beautiful daughters named Sophia and Assata. I have been employed in the medical field for over 10 years. My goal is to finish my college education to receive my bachelor's degree in Health Management. I volunteered to help run the social media content for My Daughter's Journey because I wanted to be able to uplift other women, and girls through positive quotes, memes, and short videos.
